We all put off difficult decisions. It’s part of human nature. Churches and Christian organizations and leaders seem particularly prone to this failing. We want to appear loving. We want to be nice. But the consequences of delay may prove disastrous.
I know too many Christian organizations who have gone into crisis because they did not act decisively early on. It’s like lancing a boil, as Jonathan Mbuna said.
I often think of John Adair’s advice:
It is always better to take change by the hand and lead it where you want it to go before it takes you by the throat and drags you off in any direction.
This week, what decisions have you been putting off that you need to make?
What is really stopping you?
