Marginalized employees ‒ they are in your organization, right now. They’re on the fringes. They are the people who don’t join in. What lessons does Jesus’ life teach us about putting our arms around these people and insuring they feel valued as well?
The world hungers for and desperately needs institutions that practice forgiveness well enough to train us in failure, that tell the truth and that teach ways of repair. Without such institutions, it is, quite simply, difficult even to breathe.
This is a very important matter in the organization I’m part of. We’ve had team meetings to address this matter of “Leader Care.” One strategy has been in effect for many years. It is written in official policy that everyone on staff, everyone on the team is expected to take a “Day of Alignment” once each month. . .
. . . It doesn’t hurt that it is a paid “day off.” However, this is not a day to catch up on bill-paying, or to mow the lawn. This is a day to get alone with God and seek His face, to order our steps and our
lives before Him (Ps. 50:23; 119:133).
