Peter also serves as Chairman of TFC Holdings, LLC, a residential development company with operations in Utah, and of the Fieldstone Foundation, Fieldstone’s charitable giving arm.
First Fruit is a private foundation that provides grants to Christian ministries in the developing world. In light of the key issues in today’s world, as well as the particular concerns that God has placed on the hearts of the principals, Peter and Gail Ochs, the focus for the foundation’s giving is in the areas of holistic ministry, leadership development, and reaching the less and least reached. Leadership development is concentrated on training mid-career leaders, grass root pastors and lay leaders and supporting evangelical seminaries. The vision to reach the unreached is fulfilled primarily through evangelism and church planting among unreached peoples. Holistic ministry funding consists of assisting the urban poor, encouraging medical and community health ministries and enabling rural development.

A river will curve with twists and turns in its path to the ocean seemingly without reason. Unlike a river, an organization should plan its curves and turns. Organizational theory tells you that the time for transition (or curving) is … always. Because if you wait until it starts to happen, you are too late. By the time you go through the transition, the organization might not recover from the decline. That is a problem. The challenge is to figure out what the next curve should be, and then the next, and that becomes successive generations of ideas or products or paradigms or forms of organizations.
