http://www.ponderingsbykris.blogspot.comKris Bridgman has been writing since she answered God’s call to start writing, and discovered God has a way of calling His children out of their comfort zones. At a nearby pond in the woods behind her home, she began writing her thoughts, and thus began her widely read blog Ponderings. About her blog she said, “I have heard God's voice in my spirit, experience His love daily, and have a desire for others to experience the same.”
She began a Blanket Ministry for the homeless in 2009 and is currently involved in a Homeless Outreach Bridge Ministry. She has also discovered a love for photography.
Her devotions have been published in Our Daily Journey (a devotional site of RBC Ministries), PCC Web Daily Devotional, Ruby for Women Ezine Magazine, and she is a contributor in the book Alabaster Jars, Life in Abundance Collection 2. She has authored her first book, Ya Know What I'm Say'n, which is the full story of how the blanket ministry for the homeless began.
Kris Bridgman is a native Oklahoman who has been married since 1981. She and her husband currently reside in Kentucky and they have two grown sons.
Love Purely
I met an older couple at the hospital when I was doing the hospital ministry. I wish I had their picture, but bringing a camera in to take pictures of patients is frowned upon! The husband happily told me that he and his bride had been married for 69 years. He teared up as he told me about his special lady. He still sounded so in love with her. I asked him what the secret was to such a long marriage. He immediately answered, “Love purely.”
What if You Could Delete Your Problems?
Wouldn’t it be great if life had a delete button? We could easily erase all of our mistakes. Then again, would it be so great? How would we experience the Father’s great love and mercy?
Comforts and Comfort Zones
Solomon told us that for everything there is a season. There are times that we need comforting, times that we need to comfort others, and times for growth when we are called to step out of our comfort zones. Kris describes what this means and the blessings God has in store for us when we do.
